Siren

Siren is a Moibus based weave and is related to Escalus, Nasicornis, Echis, Prospero, Yorick, Phoenician, Nineveh, and Hortensius. It may also be related to the Allure and Charm Linkage weave groupings.

Gemstone of the Week: Topaz



Topaz as a lovley gemstone that can come in all sorts of colours.  It can be colourless, brown, blue, yellow, pink, or green.  Often, colourless  Topaz can be treated to either change colour, or coated in a thin film of milar to make it was is called "Mystic Topaz" or "Rainbow Topaz." Topaz has an orthorhombic crystal structure and has a subconchoidal to uneven fracture.  Topaz has a fairly wide range of values.  It can be as low as $20 per carat to over $2,000 per carat depending on the colour, size, and quality of the stone.  The most valued colour for Topaz is generally thought to be the strong pink or top-grade red Topaz, and the least valuable being the colourless.  Topaz can be found in Brazil, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Russia, Germany, Mexico, Australia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Japan, Tasmania, Scotland, and the U.S. (and quite possibly more).
